Robin Visit to Branches by President)
As the President of WISA customary
does, the present President of WISA, Mr Dries Louw and the CEO Mr Willie L�tz
visited the different Branches between 8 October and 15 October 2002.
The programme started in Cape Town
where the Western Cape Branch under Chairmanship of Daniel Reinecke arranged
their Branch Meeting at the Spier Estate in Stellenbosch. The meeting covered the Introduction to the Biolytic process
at the Spier Experimental Wastewater Treatment Plant. The meeting took place at 15h00 and was well attended.

On the 9th October 2002
they visited the Eastern Cape Branch, organised by the Chairman of the Branch
Chris Dickson. The meeting took
place at the venue of SA Breweries, where Ken Russel discussed the whole process
of water and wastewater management in the Beer Manufacturing process.
A very informative and enjoyable tour also took
place through the factory.

On the 10th October 2002
the President visited the KwaZulu Natal Branch.
The meeting was organised under the Chairmanship of Tony Bailey.
The topic of the presentation was "Update on Waste Discharge Charges
System" by Pat Reddy from the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry.
The programme also included the award ceremony for students who attended
the N3 Wastewater Treatment Practice Course as well as the Jean Gailard Award
for the best 2 students.

The last visit on the tour was the
Free State Branch; the meeting took place at Bloemwater on 15 October 2002.
The Chairlady Noeline Basson and the committee arranged the meeting that
started at 11h00 in the morning. A
programme to look at Water Quality Standards was presented by Carl Lubout from
Rand Water and a second speaker talked on Water Purifiers and its application in
the Market.

At all the different Branches the
President Dries Louw and the CEO Willie L�tz took the opportunity to share
general information on the WISA structure, the Management processes, the Board
of Directors the Council as well as the importance of the role of the Branches
and Divisions with attendees.
Other very important points on the
importance of structured meetings, meeting programmes, information on the latest
questionnaires from our members and what the requests are for WISA activities
were highlighted.
The President also said that WISA was
experiencing a welcome growth in student members as well as an increase in
younger members and companies.
WISA strives to get our community
involved in WISA and to be the place where more people can enjoy the value
attached to be informed about changes in technology and enjoy the camaraderie
that exists in this peer-to peer relationship.
President Louw thanks each and every
member who lead our Branches and Divisions in the enormous task of keeping the
infra structure in operation and lastly the Branches, which we visited for their
arrangements to make the visit worthwhile.
