ACCOMMODATION

It is suggested that out-of-town delegates book into accommodation in the Hatfield area (± 8 kms from venue and 65 kms from OR Tambo International Airport). Hatfield is a suburban university/sporting area with a relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere. The area has shops, restaurants, fast food outlets and cinemas. Delegates should make their own accommodation reservations.

The first two hotels are recommended and are within walking distance of the CSIR ICC:

Casa Toscana (http://www.casatoscana.co.za/accomodation.asp) Tel: +27 (0)12 348 8820
City Lodge Lynnwood (www.citylodge.co.za/tl6.htm) Tel: +27 (0)12 471 0300

The next two hotels are recommended and are on the courtesy bus route:

Protea Hotel Hatfield (formerly called Protea Hotel Manor) (www.proteahotels.com/protea-hotel-manor-hatfield.html) Tel: +27 (0)86 111 9000
Town Lodge Menlo Park (www.citylodge.co.za/tl6.htm) Tel: +27 (0)12 348 2820

A shuttle bus, sponsored by SSI Engineering & Environmental Consultants, will collect delegates from the Protea Hotel Manor and Town Lodge Menlo Park each morning and return them each evening. Delegates choosing to stay in accommodation other than the appointed hotels above are welcome to walk to one of them in order to catch the daily courtesy bus to the venue. There are many guest houses in the Hatfield area within walking distance of the Protea Hotel Manor.

A simple map indicating the CSIR International Convention Centre and the nearby guest houses and hotels named above can be seen here and a clickable map which can give you directions using Google Maps.

A cost-effective option for those with their own transport is the Road Lodge in Centurion Tel: +27 (0)12 641 0400 - but please note that this hotel is NOT on the courtesy bus route and NOT within walking distance of the CSIR ICC.
